World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The upgrade of items allows players to raise the item level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This boosts the stats of the item and may also include buffs or rerolls to an affix.

Cost
The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is dependent on its current level and upgrade type selected. For example upgrading a weapon is typically be cheaper than upgrading armor, since weapons require lower levels of skill. The amount of Gold required increases as the item is upgraded to an upper level.
Upgraded items will also have upgraded stats that will improve its performance in different ways. This can include boosting its attack power or critical strike chance. A upgraded item can also add additional benefits to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades can be used to boost the overall strength of a unit or unit, and could be a major influence on the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded by any NPC who is an upgrader in the game. These NPCs are located in major questing areas or capital cities. You can also find upgraders of items by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs in the garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to improve the quality of weapons, armor and trinkets. This process is largely identical to the process used for gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the currency that is appropriate, players must visit an NPC to upgrade their items to complete the process.

Requirements

(Dice 6 can be dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 from Bosses). Additionally, you will require different quantities of Minerals and Erons.
Time is a factor.
Upgrades to items can be used to boost the stats of your gear and ship without having to level them. Although upgrading isn't cheap, it can be a good way to improve your stats without having to spend as much time in battle. It is important to understand the cost and benefits prior to investing your time or money.
Each upgrade boosts the stats of the item's base by to a certain extent and also gives a chance to get an additional substat. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components are available by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Players can also find upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs that are positioned on gathering tools can be swapped freely.
The player can transform an item to upgrade it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow for reroll. This will alter the layout of the game and allow players to choose up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced with one of the level 1 items. Recycled items will not keep their level or the amount of resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by its quality and tier.
